New Years Beginnings

Through out my life this time of year has socially been a time to reflect on ones life and decide what changes you can make and goals to set for the next year. While this is a good idea to make goals for new steps forward every year the sad thing is the vast majority of  of them are forgotten as soon as they are thought of. It is such a common occurrence that as I've gotten older new years resolutions have become a laughable farce surrounded with the proverbial knowledge that they will not really happen. The sad irony is that for ever 20% of effort needed you get 80% of the results you wanted. Change is not a hard thing to come by for those willing to do the work asked. God has been teaching us this from the beginning of time. For 10% of our income we get 100% of his blessings. I just started to read  THE ONE THING by Jay Papasan and the majority of the book addresses the idea that of "the one thing". To put it  simply put your energy where you want results and results will come but it come at a cost. That cost is simply saying no to the things that get in the way of accomplishing your goals. Stop for a second and think, what are your goals? Are they worth fighting for? Are they worth saying no for? A Russian proverb says "If you chase to rabbits you wont catch either." So I ask you one last question what is your second rabbit?
